Hello,

I just changed out my old GXT480 for a GTX1060 (MSI Gaming X 3G).

I have two monitors, one 19" connected by DVI and a 27" connected by HDMI. Both worked perfectly with the GTX480 but with the 1060 only the DVI monitor works and is the only one available in Nvidia Control panel. THe 27" HDMI monitor is not detected at all.

Even if I do the "Rigourous display detection" in Nvidia Control Panel, the HDMI monitor does not get detected.

I have tried doing a clean installation of the Nvidia drivers and even did a Safe Mode uninstall of all display drivers using the Guru3D Driver Uninstaller before reinstalling.

None of these things has worked. Does anyone have any thoughts on what I can try next? I would really appreciate a steer.

The rest of the system is practically brand new but has been running fine with the GTX480 for the last few weeks:

Core i7 6700k :4GHz
16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @3200MHz
Asus Z170-P
Corsair CX550 PSU
Sandisk 240GB SSD
Windows 10 Pro 64

Many thanks

Update:

I was using a 5m hdmi cable. When I switched to using a 3m cable the second monitor was picked up right away. I assumed the cable went bad when I unplugged it the last time so I bought a new 5m DP to HDMI cable but that doesn't work either.

Has anyone ever had problems with longish cables before?
