Should I upgrade my build? If yes, to which?

I am thinking about upgrading my pc (since black friday has all these wacky prices) for a better gaming experience.

My current stats are:

Core i5-3470
Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV
GeForce GT730
Corsair CX500M 500W

I have omitted the HDD and RAM since I am upgrading them anyway.
Basically; should I, and if yes to which, replace these components? The main question refers to the CPU and if replacing it requires a new motherboard.

Solution
Wouldn't even upgrade the ram mate at the minute

Drop a 1050ti in there & you'll see a massive improvement.

Your GPU is the weakest link in there by a massive stretch.

Running a 3470 here with a gtx 970 , it still does the job absolutely fine.
Barely a title out there you won't get a minimum of 50fps when it comes to CPU usage
All depends on budget and what you'd like it to be capable of. You could put an i7 in and keep the same board though. I'd consider upgrading though as the board only has PCIE v1.0 (3.0 is 3 times faster), USB 2 and SATA II connections.

The 3470 ia more or less on par with a new i5 6400.
The issue here is 'upgrading' that rig.

Pretty much the only upgrade worth doing is the GPU.
Finding a sandy/ivy i7 at the right price is hard , finding a better quality board will be harder still.
While I agree sata 2 & USB2 only isn't ideal it doesn't impact actual gaming performance in any way at all.

A 1050ti/1060/RX 470/480 will turn that build back into a fully fledged gaming machine albeit one based on an old chipset.

So basically you say that my gaming is limited to my GPU and not my CPU?
My current RAM is 2x4GB ADATA 1333MHz so will upgrading to 16GB + having a new GPU (lets say the 1050ti) make a big improvement? Also, lets say its upgraded to one of the GPUs you stated, will upgrading to i7 make a noticeable difference?

Ok so last question before I can close this off, GTX or RX? Is the higher price for RX noticeable in the performance?
