New RAM Issues

Recently I bought an AMD FX-8350 CPU and 2x2GB ram sticks. I found out that my MOBO needs to be upgraded (will do come Christmas) in order to use my new CPU. Should that (need of a new MOBO) affect my RAM? Well first of all, my issue. My RAM doesn't read/use all of the memory. I have 2x2GB (the new ones) and a 4GB stick. When I use a single stick, whether it's the 2GB or 4GB, it reads and uses it all. When I use the two 2gb sticks, it reads them both and uses them. When I use a 2gb and a 4gb it reads 6 but uses 4 (2GB hardware reserved). When I use all 3 of them, it reads I have 8 GB but only uses 2 GB, 6 GB in hardware reserved. I made sure all of my slots work, made sure my RAM is compatible (DDR3), made sure my mobo can use all 4 and handle that much RAM. I can't access my memory via BIOS (gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 I think) because I need to update it, but the BIOS update I need is a big hassle to update/flash and may or may not brick my PC Mobo (SO I've read). How do I free up and use the rest of the 6GB that is in reserve when all three sticks are in? I think that's all the intro and stuff, sorry if it isnt, I'm newer to the whole PC upating/grading/building thing. Thanks in advance!

I couldn't increase by the exact numbers you said, but I did but still only have 2/8 GB usable. Here's a SC of the task manager, seeing if this will help any. http://imgur.com/gallery/umIvz

Update: I think it may be m GPU, because I looked and it says "Total Available Graphics Memory: 5110MB", "Dedicated Vid. Memory: 4096MB", "System Vid. Memory: 0MB", and "Shared System Memory: 1014MB". Could it be this?
