Lga 775 intel 2 quad core vs similar xeons same socket

looking to bring a old ws back to life with a newer quad core/higher if xeon and Im not sure between a 8400 and xeon using it as a streaming/recording pc not expecting it to do both at once though. the pc has a 220w psu which I will change in the future.

The E8400 is a solid chip that I have used successfully many times in various 775 setups. Depending on the mobo and bios version the zeon may fit but the ones we have tried in our workshop were not compatible with 775 even though they fitted in the 775 slot. The Q series intel 775 Core 2 quad chips may also work but it is very much mobo and bios dependent. What is the Mobo make and model ?
