I don't think this had been a noticeably insidious issue slowly leading up to my fan making loud noises. No, this just started happening yesterday night. My laptop leads a pretty sedentary life and has only been dropped once or twice, but that happened years ago. Last night, my laptop started to rumble and growl near the fan/hdd ports. Didn't think too much of it until the shrill screeching came about. It happened not too intermittently, but there was a small interim between each scream while the laptop kept trembling and making such noises.
So this morning I found out what was making the sounds--the fan. Deducted from first removing the HDD and turning on my laptop to wailing sounds and screeches, and second by dissembling the laptop and blowing compressed air into the fan vents then hearing rumbling sounds (but no screeches for some reason)

Yeah, well, I have no clue what's wrong with it, but a layman such as I thinks it has got to be something with the thingy that holds the fan in place which might be loose or something and the fan could be hitting the housing as it is unstable. I'd love some assistance on fixing this.
