I recovered from a problem with a corrupted BIOS yesterday (in the process of troubleshooting a bad video card); the machine would go into a loop without showing any video output. Switching to the backup BIOS via the switch on the motherboard works just fine.

However, I can't get the backup BIOS to copy back over the primary BIOS. I've tried some of the suggestions I've seen online (e.g., power it down, then hold down power and reset button for 10 seconds). Should I just flash the BIOS?

Processor is an i7-4790K and I am not overclocking. I think the only non-default BIOS settings I have were to activate RAID on the storage controllers.

Yes. I want to fix the primary BIOS, though.

In theory the backup BIOS is copied manually over to the primary BIOS if the primary BIOS is corrupt, but that does not appear to be happening.
