Help finding Vista Home Premium x64 ISO.

So I need help tracking down a legit copy of Windows Vista Home Premium x64 because I just put together my old Core 2 Duo system and my Disk that had 64 bit on it got all scratched up by my kid. I have multiple copies of 32 bit and the OEM code for the system but I can not seem to find the ISO download from Microsoft.

Can anyone else find it? I don't want a hacked and virus riddled copy, Just a clean normal copy since I have a legitimate key code for the system.

x64 bit is kind of necessary because it currently has 3 GB of ram and a 1GB GPU. Depending on how well id does i may pull 4GB out of my secondary PC and put back in this one.

MS don't provide ISOs, especially to OEM copies of the OS. Digitla River used to be MS's supplier of ISOs before they took that back in house, but doesn't exist in that capacity anymore. A mirror of that old site does still exist (although I can't verify 100% that they're not riddled with viruses).

Pretty sure linking the site here would be against forum rules. You could always buy an install disk from eBay etc.

*EDIT* Nevermind, the mirror of Digital River no longer has Vista.

Don't know if you need to be a member etc.

Yea you need a subscription to that to be able to download the file. Either way a basic regular ISO will work since it does not need to be from an OEM, just a copy of the OS then you add your key and it works. Been there have gone through this in the past. I can always just put 32 Bit on it but I can not see the since of that then wiping the drive just to put 64 bit on it later when I do find one.

Oh I know, but for other OS's, you can head to MS's own site with your key and, provided it's not OEM (at which point you *should* speak to the OEM) you can download an ISO - for W7 at least. Since Vista is no longer supported, I don't believe that option is available.

I don't believe there are any 'official' channels for a Vista ISO unfortunately. Buying a disk from eBay etc at least guarantees you a legit (non virus infected) disk. I probably have an x64 Vista disk laying around I could burn an ISO from and upload somewhere for you, but realistically you've got no way of knowing that it too is not full of viruses etc?

I have Win 7 disks but that will do me no good for this PC atm. Curiosity, what does Mircrosoft do about the Win 7 keys when you upgraded to Win 10? Did they invalidate them or what? If my old key for my gaming rig is still usable I'll just reinstall my copy of Win 7 on that machine.

EDIT: come to think of it, I believe I got my copies from torants back then so I could have them on disk and handy.

The W7 gets ties to the W10 it essentially became, so it's unlikely it'll activate.

Where are you located out of curiosity? Might be worth putting a shout out in the classifieds section & see if anyone locally has a Vista disk you could borrow?

located in western MA. I never thought of that. I feel a social media post about to happen.

Well I know the Key code for my Win 10 and win 7 are different. I have done a fresh install of Win 10 this is how I know they are different. this is what made me ask about that code.

After pulling my powered scratch doctor apart and finding the switch was bad I was able to run my disk of Vista H/P x64 through and removed almost all the scratches. I was able to install the OS and I'm up and running. Although I really need to find a switch for the scratch doctor though. I just may use a toggle switch I have kicking around. some solder and heat shrink and all will be well on that front.
