CPU temperature safe?

Hello,

I have been monitoring my CPU temperature lately and have noticed it going higher then normal. I have tried to do some research about it and have not been getting a straight forward answer. I am using an i7 4790k and it is not over clocked. What I have running is Minecraft and running a local server from the same computer so I know there is a load on it. To be more specific it is Crazy Craft so it has around 65 mods. I was just wondering if those temperatures are safe for it. If so what would be unsafe. I am just using the stock heat sink and it does have thermal compound on it. I got it a few months ago so it still is pretty new. I do plan to upgrade to a water cooling system just for the cpu. Would there be any suggestions as to what to get for that also?
Thanks for the help!

The temperatures are that I have recorded on the screen shot are:

Core #0: 84 C
Core #1: 88 C
Core #2: 83 C
Core #3: 86 C
Package: 88 C

GA-H81M-S2PV
GTX 1070 8GB
i7 4790k 4.0 Ghz x4
x16 Gb ram

Update: I closed out the applications I was running then the program I use to monitor it said it dropped down to about 50-55 C in just a couple minutes. Don't think it would drop down that fast but not sure. The program I am using for it is CPUID HWMonitor. Is that a very accurate program? Also if it is worth mentioning, I just got home about two hours ago and got on my computer about 45 minutes ago and seemed to make the temperature increase dramatically. Could be the load I am running on it to do that. But just trying to put out any info that might be helpful.

Solution
It's simple. Your CPU is notorious for being a heat monster so you need a better CPU cooler than the one you currently have. Those temps are pretty high. You should make sure that they never go above 80 C. So get the water cooler you mentioned or a big tower CPU cooler. Good luck.

For further info about max CPU temps look at this thread http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1800828/intel-temperature-guide.html

EDIT: If you want to decrease the max temp a little bit, before you get your new CPU cooler, just disable turbo boost in the BIOS. It will drop the performance a bit by not allowing the CPU to go above 4 GHZ. Also you could try running the CPU fan at its max speed, if it's not already running at that level. You'll increase the...

You'll increase the noise but you have to drop these temperatures asap.

I have read about increasing the fan speed but have not been able to do that. How exactly do you do that? Guessing maybe something in bios. Don't mind the performance drop since not running something that needs a whole lot of power. Just want to drop the temperatures, don't feel like spending the money to buy another one.

You definitely need a better cooling solution than the one you currently have and you need to drop those temperatures asap. Your BIOS should have a setting that increases the CPU fan speed but I'm afraid that it should already be working at that level given your current temps. Disable the turbo boost in the BIOS and it'll drop the max temp.

Did some more research and found a couple programs that I started using. Running Core Temp and Real Temp side by side and both reading about 60 C with the other stuff running. Seems that other one wasn't accurate or something. Still will definitely get the water cooling system for it just for safe measures. I run other games like fallout 4 and Skyrim fully modded so could just up with those. And it could be the turbo boost that I disabled that is helping it also, and the fans were already set to maximum but made sure just in case. By the way, thanks for the fast response and your help.
