Hello...

I built my computer on Oct. 8, 2015 and I (used to) love it. But about 7 months ago, I noticed that it has been dragging and recently programs are starting to not respond and crashing. The hard drive is making noises that sounds like an air-compressor. The boot time for windows 10 is around 2-6 minutes. But on some cases it is only 20 seconds. It did not boot so slowly when I was running AMD, but when i switched to Intel, it began to slowly boot.

Even though I get a solid 60FPS on games like GTA 5 and CS:GO, I wanted to benchmark it. So I install 3DMark and I benchmark my computer with "Time Spy 1.0". I was outraged with the results. I scored a 1350!!! http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/16252635 Even though this was my first ever build and the hardware I used was for a budget, I did expect more.

I did do the benchmark once more with another game. It was "Fire Strike 1.1". I scored a 4320. http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/16252951 Which I still don't feel proud of.

But back to the air-compressor like hard drive. I don't have a clue why it is doing this. It disturbs me when ever I do anything on my computer, in fact, it is doing it right now.

Hi there DrCow_,

As you believe that there's something wrong with your HDD, better back up the data stored on it, until you sort this out. :)

After that, you can just test the drive and see if there's something wrong with it: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
Observe the SMART report and see if there are some abnormal values.

Let me know how this goes,
