(I want this computer to last 5 years of moderate gaming and still get decent FPS on medium settings in 2021, so that's why the parts are close to top of the line and I'm worried about longevity.)
I was looking into it, and I realized I don't need a Z170 motherboard. I began looking into H170 to save the 20$, but now I see that the DDR4 limit on the ASUS H170 PRO GAMING mobo is only 2133 mHz, but I'd like 3000 mHz. I don't know why, it just seems like to get 5 years out of this I should have 3000mHz RAM.
1. Should I just keep the Z170? I don't see any downside unless I have to fiddle with it a lot because I know I'll ruin it, so would the H170 be safer?
2. Also do you think this build will have heat problems/does the computer track the temps and alert me/make the fans blow harder or do I need thermometers or something?
4. The case comes with two fans. Should I buy a third case fan or use that money to buy an aftermarket cooler for the CPU? I imagine the RAM or mobo get hot on their own.
5. The GPU version I'm getting looks like it has two fans on it, if that matters. I just don't want anything to melt or have reduced longevity (EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING). So those, plus all the other fans, will this build be super loud? (noticeably loud if watching netflix.)
7. I think since I'm perfectly fine with 1080p graphics/60hz refresh rate the GPU won't be too taxed. For a "good enough" guy like me, is there a difference between 60hz and 144hz, or is the 1ms response time more important? (60fps max is fine by me)
8. I don't need to buy any wires or anything right? I don't care if the thing looks pretty so does it functionally matter if the wires aren't all neat-and-tidied? The issue I guess would be the wires getting in the way of the fans maybe...
9. Is it worth windows 10 pro or does the OS not really affect game performance that much?
