Good night.

I have a problem and I hope I could get some help in here.

Basically, my CPU is overheating more than I want.

These are my specs:

-CPU: i7 6700K.

-Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i

-Motherboard: MSI H170I Pro AC

-Memory: Corsair Vengeance Lpx 32GB 2X16GB DDR4 3000MHZ

-PSU: Corsair Sf Series SF600 80PLUS Gold Certified 600W

-GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 A8G ROG Strix

-Case: Fractal Design Node 202.

More information:
-I work with VFX / Renders / 3D
-Gaming too.
-I choose that case because from time to time, I have to move.

I know that my main problem is my CPU cooler, the TDP is at the limit. Also, I had to undervolt the CPU to get better temps, otherwise, I was getting more than 90.

These are the settings on the intel extreme utility:

My current CPU voltage is 1.160 / 1.168.

Temps running Prime95 26.6: Max 86C, and it runs around 81C or 82C

Rendering a normal scene with arnold render, Max 80C, hovering around 77-78C. The render last 8.29 Minutes.

playing battlefield 1: Max 82C, hovering around 75C to 78C, some times 80C

My questions are:

-is that undervoltage safe?I didnt have any blue screen or crashes.

-How low can I go with the undervoltage?

-Which CPU cooler should I buy?

I am between the Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B (it fits, barely) or a corsair H55/60 and put the radiator outside + cutting the case to send the tubes in. But I am not really happy with the second option, but if I have too, I would.

Btw: the Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B would take more than a month to ship here to Vancouver, Canada. At least from amazon. In newegg is really expensive, for some reason.

Thanks, sorry for too many questions.

Solution
A really decent cheap cooler is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, it goes for around $35 in Canada. It is one of the most popular coolers, I think it would be good for your system.
