Hi All,
I am working with a friend to build a really awesome pc for his 6 monitor setup. It needs to be able to run a 5x1p group plus one additional monitor at the highest resolution possible (4k would be nice) I am getting a little dizzy reading through hundreds of sites to find a clear answer with specific details and would really appreciate some help. The pc build includes:
Intel Core i7-5960X 3.0GHz 8-Core Processor
MSI X99A GODLIKE GAMING CARBON EATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

I am looking at purchasing two of these video cards:
SAPPHIRE NITRO Radeon R9 390X DirectX 12 100381NTOCL 8GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 OC Version w/ backplate (UEFI) Video Card

Can you recommend the best way to set up the cables (which ports or hubs to use) and the best way to configure the settings) I am flexible about the cards if anyone can recommend other cards that would be much better, but I would prefer not to get into a dizzying discussion about the which cards should be used) Thanks for your help - W

> The problem I have run into is that as I understand it, Eyefinity requires all of the monitors in a group to be connected to the same card. The only way to connect more than three monitors to the R9 390x would be to use a DisplayPort hub. The problem is the bandwidth limitations that a Multi Stream transport is capable of transmitting is as follows:
>
> RESOLUTION...................MAXIMUM # of DISPLAYS
> 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA)........5
> 1920 x 1080 (1080p)..........4
> 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA).......2
> 4k or 2k...............................1

> What am I missing? Even with two high end R9 390x video cards in crossfire (or four for that matter), I would be unable to use Eyefinity on 6 panels at even 1080p, let alone 2k or 4k? If I forget about Eyefinity, I can connect six panels to the two cards without issue, but will have to give up using all the displays as a single large eyefinity screen.
