Sapphire Radeon NITRO R9 Fury 4GB vs XFX Radeon GTR RX 480 8 gb

I am looking to buy a new GPU, I was just gonna get a 480 8gb but saw the r9 fury was on same and near the same price... I was looking to buy it in the next 30 minutes but idk... What you guys think?

Video Editing ( 1080p max as of right now )
Photo Editing
Gaming
Web Browsing
Slight Coding ( Mostly css and website fixing )

CPU: i5 4460
GPU: AMD Radeon r9 280
Motherboard: Asrock 97m pro 4
RAM: Team Elite 2x8gb
HDD: 500gb +1tb Seagate
SSD: Kingston 128gb

Go for the RX 480. You're going to need that extra Vram and there aren't much performance differences regardless.

It's 4GB HBM, not regular 4GB GDDR5.

I'd take the R9 Fury.

The fury is stronger , its as simple as that , that's a good price , the fury is a full tier higher than the 480 in theory.

I agree with At Home. Go with the Fury. It's about a tier higher than a 480 8GB. The 4GB of ram is HBM. It's WAY faster than GDDR5.

Thanks for the Quick Replies! 8gb of vram would be nice because i would crossfire it down the road.

I forgot to mention that i use 2 monitors right now but will go up to triple monitors with 1 being 4k 144hz in a few months.

Just cross-fire the Fury. It will still give you better performance. 8GB in the 480 will NOT compensate for the much slower GPU.

As good as the gtr 480 is mate , when a fury is just $10 less you would be a madman to not go for it.

Ones clocked slightly higher , & as luck would have it (& its also nonsensical) the cheaper one is also the faster one ;-)
