Anyway to upgarde prebuilt PSU. Currently have a 270 watt PSU and want a good gpu which doesn't require external power.

Currently I have a dell desktop with i5 3rd gen cpu. 4 gigs of ddr 3 ram which ill upgrade to 8gigs. And a 270 watt psu. Looking to upgrade it with in 200$. Any recommendations to what i can do or am I out of luck?

I would highly recommend to never open up a PSU just to try to rebuild it. It is much better to buy a new one.

you upgrade the PSU by buying a new one. and brandname computers can have exotic cases so some will not take a standard size PSU.

it may help if you can tell us what the model number is of your dell computer
