Display Driver uninstalled...

So I was trying to fix my GeForce Experience through Nvidia Support, the guy told me to download a program called Guru which uninstalls and re-installs my display driver upon restart, restarted and it's just a blank screen... anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

Boot into safe mode. Microsoft will supply the display driver. This should allow you to reinstall.

(Push F5 on your keyboard after BIOS loading but BEFORE windows starts to load)

Does your machine post? (Like can you see the POST process?) If not your video card may be faulty. There are no drivers for the display before windows starts to load. If there is nothing on your screen while the PC is loading then you have an issue with your monitor, your cable, or your graphics card.

It doesn't do anything, the screen just says 'No Signal' whether the pc is on or off, and everything was fine this morning, my GeForce experience hasn't been working for a couple of weeks though, but everything else has been fine

no action at all points almost 100% of the time to the power supply. (You may also want to make sure everything is plugged in nice and snug) Also try different slots on your surge protector.

You think it could be the power supply even though it was running fine this morning? I've only had problems since trying to uninstall and reinstall my display driver

I've seen hardware fail at odd times. If you hit the power button and your machine does nothing, you have a bad power supply (Or sometimes a bad motherboard) or your computer is not plugged in. The driver has nothing to do with the way the machine runs before windows loads.

Have you cleared your CMOS? (removing the battery from the motherboard for 10mins).

DDU (Guru) shouldn't stop a display - you'll just run with a low resolution basic driver until you can install the most up to date. So something else is at fault here.

Please post your full system specs.

If your machine turns on, but you have no video then you have a bad video card, or your monitor is not properly plugged in. Make sure everything is connected properly, and if it still does not work, RMA your card.

That is way too simplistic, and very poor advice - especially without understanding the specs of the setup.
There are many other potential culprits/solutions before RMA'ing the GPU.

No I haven't, this was my first build and I'm not very confident about having to take it apart.
Asus Z97-A Motherboard
Nvidia GTX 980
EVGA 450W Power Supply
4690k Processor
That's all I can remember sorry

Ok, the minimum recommended PSU for a GTX980 is 500W - although that does give some added headroom for all the junk PSUs on the market.

I'm not aware of a 450W by EVGA that's anything better than 'meh' in quality.

At this point (appreciating you don't want to), I can only suggest:
1. Clearing the CMOS and attempting to boot. If that doesn't work:
2. Remove the GPU entirely and attempting to boot with the onboard graphics.

I'd be inclined to think your PSU is not capable of providing consistent power to that setup. If it boots/displays with the onboard, then we've narrowed it down.

Sorry, the only way to figure this one out will be to get inside it.

Honestly, I don't see this being related to your GPU - any issues you were experiencing before may well be related to a driver (that you've already address), or even the PSU. nVidia will likely make you return the card (at which point you've got to get inside it anyway) - and they may find no problems with it & send it back. In the meantime, yo're without a GPU.

There's really no way to go about this other than getting inside the setup.

Ok so I've opened it, my cousin is an IT technician and he's also recommended taking it out, booting up and hoping it uses on-board graphics, finding and downloading the GPU drivers, then putting it back in and hoping it works, sound right to you?

Kind of, sort of.

First of all, clear the CMOS and attempt to boot. If it works, great.

If not, you want to understand whether it'll boot without the GPU installed. Remove the GPU & attempt to boot with the onboard. If it does (and you've no GPU installed), it likely won't let you install the driver anyway.

If it boots first, great. Add back the GPU and see if it'll post.

Regardless, I'd seriously consider replacing that PSU.

Alright so I just disconnect the the PSU from the motherboard for 10 minutes with the computer off? I just want to be sure, I don't want to mess this up even more haha, sorry I I'm being a frustrating rookie

No, you remove the little silver battery (looks like a watch battery) from the motherboard & wait 10 mins (disconnected from power, of course).
There's probably a jumper on the board that'll perfomr the same function, but the battery removal is a little less finicky (the jumper has to be set to a position for a time, and then returned). BAttery out, wait 10 mins, battery in. It's a little simpler.

As an FYI, might want to clean up the language.

My battery in that case is underneath a really annoying to screw in and delicately held in part of a water cooler, I think would be easier to remove the graphics card, so is it ok to go on with that?

Hi again, it won't even start with on board graphics now, same problem... is the battery a small metal disc? I think I may have been looking for the wrong thing after all, I would post a picture but I can't seem to on my phone

I removed it and replaced it and it did nothing, I'm pretty sure at this point it's something to do withmy lack of graphics card drivers, whenever I plug my card in neither of my screens work as if there aren't any drivers for the card, I can use an old VGA monitor with onboard graphics to get on to Windows but it's really distorted, tried getting the right GPU drivers but can't install them without the card in as well 'No compatible hardware'
