Hi, I'm looking to connect the GTX 950 STRIX to my computer, and just wanted to double check how I need to connect the 6 pin pci-e cable on my psu (It's been a few years since I built it and I've completely forgotten!

here is a photo of my psu outputs

No problem,

Good news, one of those will work no matter what model of GTX 950 you are hoping to use.

The side with the solid 8-connector will plug directly into the PSU (either of the red slots on the left will work), and the other side into the GTX 950. I'd personally recommend using the 6+2 cable on the left, and if your GTX 950 model only needs a 6-pin the extra 2 can hang off the side. Doing it that way will enable you to upgrade the GPU to a new model that requires 8 pins in the future without having to fiddle with your cables again. Using a 6+2 cable on a 6-pin GPU is quite common, and will in no-way hurt the card as the connections are designed to handle both 6 or 8 pins on the line.

One side of the 6-pin PCIe cable should plug directly into the free black port on the right side.

The other side of the PCIe cable should plug directly into the GTX 950.

The side with the solid pin block (with no gaps) is the one you'll want to plug into the PSU, similar to the ends you can already see plugged in.

Hi I've got a solid 6 pin cable, but on the other end its got 8 gaps, but 6 of them with pins, guessing I'll need a new cable, or can I plug it into the red ports on the left?

Many thanks
