newbie asking for console advice

Hi everyone, my 9 yr old son would like an xbox or PS for xmas, mostly to play minecraft. I know exactly 0 about gaming and am choking at the price tag. would something like the Xbox 360 4GB System work? Any other consoles out there? should I get it used? His screen time is limited during the school week, I wager he'll only be allowed to play for a few hours during the weekend. Thank you again for all your help! - Jo

the playstation 4 is more powerfull , so the graphics will be better on the ps4 however.
you need to know that both consoles require a payment in order to play online ( xbox live or playstation plus), about 50 dollars a year.

every console has got their own exclusives.

but the point is, i would let your son pick, since you want the platform that your friends are playing on too.
