I was playing The Witcher 3 for about five minutes when the top of my PC tower in the back got incredibly hot, started smelling and suddenly turned off and wouldn't turn back on. I immediately suspected my PSU fried, so I removed it and put my Corsair CX600M from my last PC in and it turned back on just fine. My new PC is only 6 months old and came with a Thermaltake TR2 600W in it. So my question is, I learned recently that Thermaltake is kind of a crap brand for PSU's and so I'm wondering if my Corsair will be fine, or do I need more watts to play this game. I'm terrified to launch the game, have it fry ANOTHER PSU only this time it will take other components down with it. The game was running great and looking beautiful for the five or so minutes before my PSU went.
CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: Radeon R9 390
PSU: Corsair 600w
MB: Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3
Memory: 8 GB DDR3
HD: Toshiba 1TB
I should also note that I have been able to play other new games, like Fallout 4, just fine and have been monitoring all the temperatures and they're always within a healthy range.

Corsair don't 'make' PSUs at all. PSUs vary in quality, and by OEM. Corsair have some great models (HXi, RMi, AXi etc), some 'meh' (CX, some of the RM's) and some pretty poor options (VS, CS, some of the CX lineup)

What I'd recommend would really depend on your budget & location.
