I got my Seagate Expansion Desk back in september and it worked perfectly fine at first. However, I haven't been using it the past couple of weeks and when I went to use it today, it isn't turning on when plugged in. The indicator light that is supposed to show if it is getting power isn't turning on and all, and when I noticed when i plug it both into the computer and to its power supply, it makes this strange faint clicking noise. Is this a fixable issue, or should I just send back the hard drive?

Hi there computermatt,

When comes to externals, clicking sounds could be caused by a couple of things:
- Not enough power supplied to the device. You can attach the drive with different cables to another computer.
- If the issue persists, then the HDD has failed. You can contact the place you got it from and RMA it. If you have some important data stored on it, you may need to look for some professional help.

Let me know in case you have some more questions,
D_Know_WD :)

Been tried and is not working so I'll probably just take your advice and return it. Thank you very much for your help.
