Hello, I have successfully overclocked my i5 6600K to 4.6 GHz with 1.34 V (manual mode). It was stable after 2 hours in RealBench and temps were at 70 C (I am using air cooler). I want to change some settings, so I would be able to safely use this baby at mentioned speed for everyday tasks and games. After the first test, I have run another one (this time I have switched to offset mode for voltage) and it was also stable with max 70 C. This is what I have changed: frequency and vcore.
Please, tell me what should I change for safely everyday use. Cheers!

Can I test Skylake processor with Prime95? I have read many bad news about this combination. If yes, I will test it tomorrow. One more question, is it ok to have constant 4600 MHz all the time? Or should it change like in stock settings?

Yes it is safe to test with prime95. Like any other stress test watch your temps while testing. As for having the CPU locked at a certain frequency it wont hurt the CPU but will cause a Higher electric bill and produced more heat while idle. If you are looking to hit max clocks then have power savings off but if not turn on the power saving option. Since you have the power settings set to Offset then you might as well have the CPU drop the clocks to take advantage of the power dropping feature.

I have tested it in RealBench for 15 minutes, and temps were like ~70C (same situation, with 2 hours test, which I did week ago). I have done some small Cinebench "stress test" and everything was fine.
Then, I have started Prime95 v2810 and fans went crazy immediately after test stars... And I saw temps like 89C, so I stopped it.
Note, that I am using CPU as primary GPU for playing LOL and Word of Tanks, since my video card have not arrived yet. I have used my rig with this oc settings for 3 days, and everything was fine.

Prime 95 is a true stress test and not a benchmarking program. What are you using for a cooler the stock Intel air cooler?

89°C is a bit out of control for full load. Go over your Cooler's installation again and make sure it is installed correctly. Intel is usually 70-75°C max temp before it is dangerous to the CPU. IF the cooler is properly installed then you may want to consider adding more cool air to the case or a drop in voltage to lower the max temps.

Hi, I finally had time to do some tests. I found out what was wrong with my settings: the adaptive vcore. For some reason setting 1.34 V and + 0.01 V offset in UEFI gives me 1.38 V (measured with OCCT) and +90°C. I have lowered voltage to 1.33 V and everything seems fine now. However, I still have 1.37 V in OCCT, but temps are lower by 15°C now.
