ASUS PCE-AC88 wireless adapter issues

Hi everyone I've recently built my first pc, I started with a htpc case and msi 170m micro atx board. I had a need for more fans but no room to expand so I bought a new case and upgraded to a msi z170a xpower titanium motherboard and corsair 750d case, needless to say much better for cooling.

The issue is my network adapter for wifi, I was using a USB linksys adapter on the first pc but decided to upgrade to an asus pce ac88 network card. I cannot get this to work at all. I have researched a lot of different threads but can't seem to get it to work.

I have it on my third pce x 1.0 slot after the second slot wasn't working, either way in the msi board explorer it doesn't recognize there is a card in the slot. I have gone in to device manager and uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times and nothing seems to work. I've looked in all the xpower drive folders that came in the DVD for networking applications and drivers but I'm not sure what I'm looking for and what I have tried hasn't changed anything.

All components are brand new so they should be a matter of enabling or downloading a driver but I'm lost

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Adam

I can answer my own thread :) I had the network adapter in a pcie x 1.0 slot and it wasn't working so I read that the slots are disabled when you use a graphics on pcie x 16 so I moved it to my very last pcie slot which is a longer slots that would fit a graphics card even though the adapter is smaller but it worked and its picked up in the bios board explorer now too
