Win7 update not working

I still can't make my laptop update. Did a fresh win 7 install and update stays on searching for updates WiFi is not working either all those stand alone installers I'm told to try are useless.. Can anybody help

32-bit or 64-bit? I went through this on a friend's Lenovo laptop. Whether it is a 32-bit or 64-bit install changes a couple of KB files to download that speed up the updates and also the procedures for doing the updates.

I know it sounds silly, but that's Microsoft for you.

It took me a full day to work through it.

Same thing happened to me on clean win 7 install. This how i fixed it. Reinstall 7. during install, turn off auto update( i turned off my wifi to make sure) After win 7 install, install these two updates in this order;Windows6.1 -KB3020369-x64 than Windows6.1 -KB3172605-x64. I assume you have 64 bit. afthe this turn on updates. you should have most of your updates in a day. you will have to download and install the right wifi driver. i downloaded mine on my phone.
