Ultrawide monitor 29'' vs 23.8'' 1080p monitor

Solution
Your GTX 1060 should handle most games with either monitor.

The wide screen is "21:9 UltraWide™ FHD (2560*1080)". This has more pixels than the other monitor which is 1080p (1920 by 1080). Your PC will work harder to display games on the more pixel monitor. Check the games you play to see if either your i3 or your 1060 is considered a minimum configuration -- if so the extra pixels might hurt you. The wide monitor also has "freesync" which only works with AMD video cards, so if you are paying extra to get freesync vs. other monitors consider skipping it.

Other than that, it's a matter of what you like. I like vertical real estate on a monitor. I use a 1920 x 1200 monitor to get the extra lines of vertical output. I would not...

Others who game like the wide format - it's similar to a side by side multi-monitor screen configuration without the need for a second monitor.

good luck.
