Hey all, I've been out of the upgrading game for a while now. I'm about to upgrade my graphics card at home, and would like to "recycle" my current card into my girlfriend's computer. I currently have a Radeon HD 5770 in my computer. She has one of those AMD phenom processors that come with an integrated NVidia GeForce 9200. If I plug the Radeon in, will it perform better than the integrated? It's hard to find solid info comparing them, since the Radeon is 7? Years old now. It has less memory according to dxdiag than the 9200. (1gb vs 1902mb).

Comments? Thanks.

I can tell you without looking it up that the HD 5770 is without a doubt better than the integrated Nvidia GeForce 9200 graphics. HD 5770 still beats the new Intel integrated (Intel HD 530) graphics today.

not even comparable, the 5770 is superior

I don't really get how to use the hierarchy list, side by side ok, but integrated modern compared to a 7 year old dedicated I got confused. Thanks. So the 5770 will still be better than the integrated one, even though it's so old. Interesting.

Sorry. Yes. These integrated chips are new to me. I thought it was odd to have an Nvidia GPU in an amd CPU.

The GeForce 9200 integrated graphics isn't listed on the hierarchy table. It wasn't very fast, not fast enough for any recent gaming.

The hierarchy list is fairly simple. All GPUs are grouped in to tiers of similar overall performance. If you search for the HD 5770, you'll see it is in the same tier as a GTX 550 Ti (as well as other GPUs). This tier is one tier above the Intel HD 530 (Skylake) integrated graphics. One tier goes horizontal across, then the next tier is a different shade of grey alternating every other tier.
