So, I recently upgraded my PC from Asrock anniversary 4790k 16gig ram to Z170A Mobo and I7 6700K unlocked, 32 gigs ram. GPU is GTX 1080 MSI. So my question is, ive lost a significant amount of FPS in all my games and idk what happened. Maybe I put something in the wrong spot? Help please

Solution
Even it reinstalled itself, just do a fresh install yourself, not reset, a classic reinstall. Your problem is 90% because of conflict. When a motherboard is changed it is very very recomended to reinstall widnows.

Well I don't have a lot to go on, but did you put your video card in the top slot? Was your old CPU overclocked and this one not? Honestly I think you wasted a lot of money for almost nothing since the 6700k is barely better than the 4790k. I hope you can give us more info so we can help you out better.

Well, eventually I want to be able to SLI which is why i upgraded my Mobo and CPU but they're both unlocked and I never overclocked either of them. I did put my video card in the top slot.

Windows did reinstall itself and i reactivated it. It got better last night but when I turn on the computer it goes back to the way it was and Im stuck at about 40FPS and its frustrating. I also didnt do anything with the BiOS, could it because of that?

So windows reinstalled, but did you install the drivers for everything after that?

Yes a real fresh windows installation and installing the drivers should help. I know Windows installs generic drivers for many things but they tend to really suck so spend the time installing the newest drivers from the actual chip makers sites, like the chipset drivers from intel, the LAN drivers from who ever made the LAN chipset, graphics from AMD or Nvidia, ECT.. Generic drivers = Sucky performance 99% of the time..
