I have t the GA-B150M-D3H (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5491), a Gigabyte RX 470 and 4 RAM sticks of 4GB each. I recently finished my build. When the system booted with everything installed there was 1 long (not continuous) beep and the system posted showing everything (seemingly) fine in the BIOS screen.

I could not find what 1 long beep is for. The manual does not list anything. The BIOS screen is UEFI bios and I couldn't find beep codes for those.

I removed the GPU and 2 memory sticks. Now there is 1 short beep and I know that that signals that everything is fine. If I removed all memory (I know it won't POST) then I get 1 continuous beep. So the 1 long beep is not memory or CPU, but still not "everything is fine". I suspect it's the GPU, but all the lights and fans are working, so maybe the PCIe connection?

Anyone has any idea what that beep code is?

I THINK I know what it is. I plugged in an external HDD to install the OS earlier and now I disconnected it from the MOBO's USB port and there's the single short beep. When I connect it again it's a single long beep. I can swear this isn't listed anywhere so I'm still asking for another pair of eyes on this.

Update: yes, it's that. An external drive connected on bootup will cause a long beep. I guess it servers as a warning for anyone who might have forgotten a drive connected to the USB.

GPU was in the x16 slot. I didn't plug it in in any of my further tests. I did "reset to factory defaults" in the BIOS. I think I found the problem, see my comment above please because I'm not sure.

Hi there

Well i have not build system in some time. The long beep is something most likely not all the way seeded. What You did take out to memory dimms and the GPU. Now reinstall one at a time uae a flashlight to make sure the pcie pin connectors are not showing with both graphics and memory.
