Best mini ITX motherboard for i7 6700k

Hey guys,

I'm planning to set up a gaming PC as a birthday present for myself.

I will for sure get the i7 6700k, since I want to both play game but also do some video editing.

Now, I was going to buy the Asus ROG Maximus Hero VIII, but I just might chance my mind to buying a mini-ITX motherboard for portability reasons (thinking about THE NZXT Manta).

Which motherboard do you suggest?
Or do you say to not buy a mini-ITX PC at all?

I don't need a M.2 drive, I'll be just fine with the Samsung 850 EVO.

I'd go with the silverstone (I believe it's the RV01ZB or something like that).
It's the size of a modem and is a great little case.
What's your budget?
I'll whack something together.
Are you gaming?

My budget is around 1600 dollar (give or take).
I really like the NZXT Manta (mini ITX) and yes, it's for gaming first and also some video editing.

So is it for home use and occasional travel?
Why not get a micro ATX build?
Allows for much better airflow.

I read somewhere that mini-ITX parts would be slower than normal sized Parts and that micro-ITX would be even slower?

Nope, they're the same speed, all depends on the headers and features, no difference in terms of performance provided thermals are good.
