My laptop is about a year old now but for somereason is saying that it cannot connect to any wifi at all. It doesnt even give me a option anymore it just shows a symbol which looks like a ethernet cable next to a monitor. Just wanted to know what it is and how to solve it

Laptops, especially older models, if you have a network cable connected to the lan port the wifi gets "turned off" do you have a network cable connected to your pc ?
if yes, disconnect your lan cable
if not then see below
Right click on your "network" icon, select " network and sharing center" click on "change adaptor setting"
Now in this window, do you see your WIFI ? is it disabled ?
if yes right click and enable it
if not, does this occur all the time? or only when it wakes up from sleep mode.
