Current set up:

Processor: A10-7860k 3.7Ghz
Motherboard: Gigabyte F2A78M-HD2
Ram: 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz
HDD: 1TB

So for now, i am thinking to upgrade by adding a GPU which is GTX 1060 3GB

Will the CPU perform with the gtx 1060 nicely in gaming?

I'm also thinking to switch my CPU to i3 skylake build with the same GPU gtx 1060 is that a preferable choice or do i stay with my current set up

The i3 is a much faster CPU, but your A10 will still be alright and will improve greatly from a discrete GPU. I would suggest getting the new GPU first and see how it performs.

^^ This is best option. Will need a new Motherboard and possibly DDR4 RAM, though.
