Hey there,
I've had a tp-link wn823n adapter for about 3 months now and all its doing is giving me hassle.

Half the times I cant connect to my home network and when I can it's limited.

I've recently got my neighbours wifi password and I can connect to there wifi no problem.

So far I've tried everything from ipconfig/release to other things and all it says it "cannot preform operation on (something)(something)7 while it has its media disconnected. I have even tried changing my wifi security to wpa2 psk and still no luck. I've reistalled drivers contest time and it doesn't work.
Please help it would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Since you are able to connect to your neighbour's router "no problem", that would indicate that it's your router that's causing the problem, rather than an issue with your PC or the WiFi adapter.

I suggest therefore that you reboot your router by unplugging it from the mains for a minute, then plug it back in and wait for it's status lights to show "all okay & ready to use".

If the problem isn't fixed by doing that, try changing the router. Low and mid-priced routers often fail after a couple of years (or even less), particularly on the wireless side.

I got through no less than three mid-priced routers inside a year. So I bought a more expensive (£140) Billion router 18 months ago and it has never let me down.
