Hello, I recently purchased a Samsumg 950 Pro nvme m.2 256 gb ssd and a Gigabyte z97x-sli mobo to use it with it's onboard m.2 connector. However, I didn't realize that I would only be able to get speeds of 10 gbps on my mobo. Would I be able to use a pcie x4 to m.2 apapter and get better speeds? currenlty I'm only getting about 410 mbps read/write. thanks for the help guys

had a quick look at your motherboard--has less pci-e lanes than z170 boards

but far as i can see

if you populate the second pci-e x16 port

both pci-e slots will run at x8--shouldnt really notice your gpu is at x8 compared to x16

would leave x8 then minus whatever else it allocates for other hardware

so as long as only 4 lanes are allocated for other hardware leaving you x4 then should be ok

sorry cant give a 100% yes or no but i am used to z170 boards which have more pci-e lanes
