I found several other posts related to similar problem but none of their solutions worked for me so far. So any help would be appreciated.

I recently got a d-link av2 2000 powerline adapter.

https://www.cnet.com/products/d-link-powerline-av2-2000-gigabit-network-extender-kit-dhp-701av/review/

Ever since I got it, whenever I plug it in, it works well for a few minutes when I am using the computer and then it drops the internet connection for my whole router. As soon as I remove the powerline adapter (only from the router side), the internet comes back to the router immediately.

Few things to keep in mind:

- I have been using d-link AV2 1000 before on the same outlets and it didn't have any problems.

- There are no power hungry appliances near it.

- The powerline adapters are connected directly to the outlet.

- Changing which outlet the powerline adapters on both sides are connected to doesn't change anything.

- The router and the modem are not connected to the same power outlet.

- (Here is where things get interesting). I HAVE to do heavy browsing or downloading on the powerline connected pc for a few minutes to get everything to crash. I tried leaving the pc on without any work or just pinging google for a while, which doesn't make the internet crash.

- The problem occurs in both my windows 10 and arch linux.

- Lastly, as I mentioned before, as soon as I remove and reconnect the adapter from my router side, everything is working again.

I know it might be a bit too much information. But I wanted to be as useful as possible to whoever is trying to help me. And also this is very puzzling to me... Thank you ahead of time to whoever posts anything in response.

Thanks for the answer, RealBeast. I just gave that a try. The problem is still there.

I guess I will contact D-Link or go back to best buy to replace it with av2 1000.
