i have an MSI g45 z97 mobo with corsair dominator 2133 memory

in my bios when i select it to run at 2133 (or close) it accepts in and will post but when i see my speeds using aida64 cpuid it shows 1333
iv also tried setting it to 1600 speeds and that changed it from 1333 to 1066
do you have to change volts to get rated memory?

Doubling 1066 = 2133
