Hello guys,

The motherboard I have currently is the MSI 2a9c and at this moment in time I have 4GB DDR3 plugged. I bought the desktop ready made (big mistake I know) roughly 5 years ago. I'm looking to upgrade to 8GB or maybe 16GBs. Along with the RAM upgrade I'm planning to upgrade my CPU to a i7 870 because my mobo only supports lga 1156 socket. Will a used CPU and RAM be okay to buy? It's from CEX so a proper company and I will get a year warranty as well.

Many thanks

Thanks for the rapid reply, so adding anything over 8GB would be no added benefit? Sorry for the stupid question, also would 4x2GBs be better?

Thanks
