Hi
So I bought a new case spec alpha, and everything was going well till i pressed the power button, nothing happaned.
So i took off 4 pin and 20+4 pin connectors and reconnected them to motherboard and it worked!
However I turned it off to plug in a display and mouse but can't turn it back on again...
The light on my motherboard that signals the receiving of power turns on BUT the motherboard won't boot.
I've tried everything, putting the 20+4 in there lightly and hard but still won't turn on even tho the ethernet cable place has its light on.
Any suggestions to what could be causing this problem?
I tried my old case's power button still won't turn on, tried different power supply cable.
However when I told you I got it to turn on and turned it off, I had the 20+4 pin on there very lightly and doing the same technique again isn't doing anything. Do I have the screw on too tight? Did I bend thr motherboard? Did I break the 20+4 pin while taking it out? Well I don't think I did any of those wrong but yeah..

My motherboard, h81m-plus asus, gpu gtx 960 msi 2gb, cpu cooler hyper 212x, case spec alpha cordair white red, cpu i5 4460, PSU axceltec 450w

There isn't any visible damage on the motherboard and I tried my other pentium g3260 CPU to see if the cpu was the problem but it still didn't boot. As far as I'm concerned I think its the 20+4 pin connector. And yes I have tried shorting the power button to boot it up on the motherboard.

Was going to suggest that you don't have the Power Switch hooked to the proper header on the motherboard, but if you shorted it at the motherboard correctly then that would rule that out. To be safe, double check that jumper from Switch to motherboard is correct. Do you have access to another PSU at all.. the one you have is VERyY low quality (I believe) and maybe it decided to flake out on you, just to make things exciting.

I'm gonna be working through that list now. And nope I have no other power supplies and yes my current one is really bad, however it still provides power due to that light so I have no clue if its motherboard or my PSU
