Previously had a 802.11n USB wireless adapter working well with my Windows 10 PC. But accidently my phone fell on it and it broke. So i bought a new one yesterday. But windows doesnt detect it. I mean it detects it but throws me an error saying "The usb device trying to connect malfunctiond so windows couldnt recognize it. "
To make sure if it was the Adapter itself giving problems I plugged it in to my friends computer who was also using Windows 10. We plugged it in and instantly windows detect it and install the drivers and bam, it works. So I knew there was something with my drivers.
Went to device manager and clicked on properties to see what the error was about. Here it is " Error Code 10" "Device returned and Invalid serial code or string "
I tried resetting windows, Completely reinstalling windows, installing rivers that came with the cd, plugging in to different usb ports but none of them works. Can someone help me ?

Solution
Hi the problem of your computer now is the device driver or the hardware itself or any additional software you installed before. Concentrate in troubleshooting the device driver, compatibility issues, or device configuration issues. All you need is to updates your windows 10 and your wifi adapter by following the instruction of your vendor how to install your device in your windows 10.
