I just finished a new build and installed windows 7 Ultimate. After installation..my initial windows boot I am getting a Machine Check Exception BSoD. I have double checked all my ram to make sure it was seated properly, reinstalled windows a couple of times. My bios is reading all of my memory and cpu properly as far as I can tell. I have done new builds before but I never have any major issues so I am fairly new. Any input and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Here are my components
ASUS RAMPAGE V EDITION 10 LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (8 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4
Intel Core i7-6850K 15M Broadwell-E 6-Core 3.6 GHz LGA 2011-v3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 PCI Express
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 1TB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal Solid State Drive
CORSAIR Hydro Series H75 CW-9060015-WW Water / Liquid CPU Cooler 120 MM
EVGA SuperNOVA 750

I don't have an X99 so I am just guessing. What I think I would recommend now, is to start another thread with the new info (X99 4 DIMMs fine, 8 DIMMs fail to boot). Maybe somebody with more experience with an X99 and 8 DIMMs can give you something more concrete.

I have 2 matched sets of 4. All the same product purchased together.
Ok I will try that first and get back to you.
Thank you for the help

So I have only 4 matched DIMMs in on the left side and it has now let me boot windows. Does that mean one of these sticks is bad or do I need different ram to run all 8 16g

Ok the only options are Auto Manual and XMP. I reinstalled 4 sticks and tried all 3 and its back to giving me the same Blue Screen. I tried adding just 2 more sticks with same result ...and also tried the other 4 in the system instead and they all seem to work fine as long as there is only 4. I bought these from the same vendor in sets of 4 they show to all be identical. Should I return them for a full set of 8? If so..which set would you recommend as the best.
Thanks again for all the help. This has been a new learning experience for sure.

Ok well no matter which set are in the computer they work fine as long as there are only 4. Anything more than 4 is giving me a BSoD on startup and I cant even get into windows at all.
