So, when my last computer finally needed replacing, I bought the GTX960 card, not knowing that in a few months the 1060 was coming out. I don't really keep up-to-date with this stuff, every few years when I need a new PC I research what I need then buy/build.

From what I'm reading, the ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL-GTX1060-O6G 6GB card would be a good upgrade for my ASUS GeForce GTX 960 OC 2GB Strix... right around my price range as well, just waiting for it to go on sale.

That said... is there anything newer like an updated model coming out within the next few months? Likely (since currently 0 stock anyways) I'll have to wait for Boxing Day sales to get this card... but if there is another version update coming out (ie GTX 1160) before Spring, I thought I'd check first. :D

Always had luck with ASUS and their cards and motherboards so, not so much looking for brand feedback, just hate to upgrade my card and 2-3 months later a much better one is out. Slightly better, I'm not too concerned with.

I'd say it's very well worth it as you'll be looking at around 70% performance improvement in most games. You can still sell your card for somewhere around $90-110 dollars (depending on if it's a 2 or 4GB model), so that would be more than 2/3 the cost of a new (~$250) GTX 1060 6GB.

From what I've read it's a decent and noticeable step up from what I have, which is what I am after. I hate small performance increased and tend to wait 2-3 years between video card upgrades because of it. I'm not a big gamer... but from what I've seen, the GTX1060 will be a nice step up, and my card is still worth enough used that upgrade is well within budget.

Thanks.
