I don't know if this is that common I'm an amateur builder and my new gaming rig has a vp550f psu i7 6700k gtx1060 g1 OC 16 gb of patriot 2666mhz ram and a gigabyte h110n motherboard and I've noticed this sound coming from the pc and checked the fan of the gpu and cpu it's not those but it is coming from the power supply I just switched it from a 600w Lepa mx which made the same sound over time it's not incredibly loud just annoying and wondering if it is coil whine? I mean it's tough low pitch to really be coil whine and sounds like electric pulses but loud... it happens right after starting doom at mostly ultra with nightmare settings.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3es1D5KnaLmQ2JpVnQyVHlTVm8/view?usp=drivesdk sounds like this

Solution
congrats, you correctly diagnosed the issue - coil whine.
It's harmless, but annoying.
it's strange that you selected the h110 MB for 6700K CPU. you'd be better with Z170 as it unlocks the CPU overclocking and memory clocks beyond 2133MHz.
Also, while VP550 is OK, it is very basic PSU. You should have better quality unit for your build.

Thanks for the help and yeah I know it was a strange choice in mb but I just wanted a mini itx build but I was only buying local and they had a black Friday sale for a i7 6700k for the price of a i5 6600k and I don't really plan to overclock so it's fine I will invest in a better psu though thanks again!
