So, I've had my PC for about a year, and its been great. But I've run out of space. I have lots of games, photos and other media and I've filled up my 1tb pretty fast. With Christmas coming up, I'll be able to get a new one. Which one should I get? At the moment I've got a seagate barracuda 3.5" SATA III ST1000DM003 1tb. But since my PC has only 3 hard drive bays, would it be better to get a 2tb one? Also, what cables do I need to install it, and where do I install it in my Aerocool Aero-800 case? Thanks.

I would recommend for 2TB drives

Either of those would work just fine. The first one would be faster but it doesn't really matter for most things if you don't install the OS on there. The second one has been working fine for me for ages and I see no problems with it. Whatever you do, do NOT EVER IN A MILLION YEARS get the Seagate ST2000DM001 2TB HDD. It is much cheaper than most other 2TB HDDs but their failure rate is absolutely ridiculous. I've had two of those drives and they've both failed. My lesson is learned and I will never buy or recommend it again.

Hi,

If you need a lot of space then get the 2TB. Now the cables you need is 1 SATA3 6gb/s from MB to HDD, and 1 cable from PSU to HD. But where to place it is up to you, there is no rules here unless all bays are used.

I'm not really interested in that. What I wanted to know was what make and brand of hard drive to go with, so could you suggest one? Thanks.
