Asus maximus vi extreme m.2 combo

So i would like to use the m.2 slot of the motherboards mpcie compo II module the m.2 ssd i want to use is the SAMSUNG MZVLW256HEHP PM961 256GB M.2 2280 PCIE NVME SSD. Are those two components fit to work together?
I know the length problem 2240 to 2280 but dont mind about that..

not sure that mini pci-e slot will run any where near fast enough for that m2

needs to be a pci-e x4 slot and think thats only x1 looking at the motherboard page

Is it really a x1 slot?
I olso see it in the manual that it says x1 but i dont believe it
Theres no difference then from an ordinary sata port right??

x1 is possibly even slower than sata 6Gbs

x2 is 10Gbs

bit surprised it said x1 myself x2 wouldnt have surprised me but x1 does seem peculiar

useless m.2 port i might say after all i cant think a single reason for it to excist, as u said peculiar...
