Hello there, as first I'm fully aware that a lot of similar problems exist over the internet but I've desperately searched all of it and couldn't find anything that helps.

The thing is that Windows 7 64bit just won't recognize my Graphics adapter which is specified as
AMD RADEON HD 6470M on my
HP Pavillion G7 1000sm

I have made a fresh format of entire disc, installed fresh Windows 7 from a dvd and my graphics card is automaticaly recognized (in device manager) as a Standard VGA adapter.

I have immediately downloaded AMD Catalyst drivers for 64bit which support 6000M series, but strangely after the installation windows recognizes two graphic adaptor in device manager.
AMD Radeon HD7400M Series (What? I don't even have this) and still
Standard VGA adapter

When I go to set screen resolution i see that windows are using "Generic PnP monitor on Standard VGA Graphics adapter" which I can't change to anything else.

I have tried a bunch of other driver versions but nothing seems to do any magic, even used "have disc" optio to manualy find *.inf driver files but with no results.

I even tried to uninstall Standard VGA adapter in device manager, but after the restart got lost the picture on my monitor after the windows logo, and couldn't start my notebook even thru safe mode, only windows reinstall helped.

Every kind of help is welcome, thank you very much.
