Is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED CPU Cooler, the same heatsink/fan as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler? just led lights..

Its not the same , the contact point are different
212x contact pipe are gapless while the 212 LED model got gap between those pipes

212x upgraded from the 212 Evo (new fan less noise design)
212 LED upgraded from 212 Plus (new fan + LED)

Which one better? 212x
less noise, better heat dissipation

I use the hyper LED now and its amazingly quiet, dropped my CPU 22-24c and i see no difference from the hyper evo (at least when looking at people installing hyper evo's on youtube videos) they're one and the same just red leds. TY again SR-17 Blackbird

There is a difference between the Hyper 212 EVO and the Hyper 212 LED. Almost everyone says there's not, but you might want to know that there NOT metal gaps between the four direct contact heat pipes in the Hyper 212 EVO, so it seems like a smooth copper surface. On the other hand, there ARE metal gaps between the four direct contact heat pipes in the Hyper 212 LED, so people say it creates a rigid surface rather than a smooth one.

However, I am not sure if the gaps between the heat pipes affect its cooling performance.

Was about to buy the LED version because of the "best answer".
Luckily I noticed the big difference of DC (Direct Contact) vs CDC (Continuous Direct Contact) in last minute.

Where is the option to report wrong "best answers"? :p
