Hello,

I took the mission to build a PC for my father and brother, which will be used for video editing and also sometimes games. Of course it should be very stable and reliable for years to come (It is very important for my father, who doesn't like to change computer every three years), and it should be able to run all sort of other programs fast and without problems, of course.

The budget is around 1200$. It could vary if it will make a significant difference. Please let me know.

I want to take advantage of the black Friday deals, and since I live in Israel, I looked at Amazon Germany and UK, since only they deliver here.

I was kind of aware of what components were recommended a few years ago, but now I am definitely out of date.

What CPU, cooler, motherboard and GPU would you recommend? as for the other components, I have found some fine deals that I will list here. Feel free to comment if one component that I chose seems inappropriate for my build.

Many thanks!

Case-
Please let me know which one of these (they are on sale) you would recommend-I could only buy it in Israel since delivery would be really expensive:

And once again-Thank you so much!

Solution
There is no such thing as straining the PSU. Well, you can go for the 650w for future upgrades, but this should be the only reason. About the cases, I'm afraid I can't help you, since it's such a personal thing... You may just go with the one that offers better space for cable management and has a couple of silent fans. Also, for some reason, your webpages just won't show up so I can't help you with the links you provided. So, I'm guessing: Western Digital HDDs are the best, followed by Seagate. The 1060 is an amazing GPU, it will run everything at ultra/1080p/60fps, but not as long as the 1070/980ti will. The SSD is really important, you don't need to rush it, but you certainly will never go back to saving large games in your HDD when...

Okay, so as I see so far, there is no doubt that I should get the i7-6700k, even though I will get it in Israel without discount.

As for the motherboard, I will have to get it in Israel too. Which one would you recommend from here? (1 dollar is 3.86 ILS)
http://www.zap.co.il/models.aspx?sog=c-motherboard&keyword=z170

And as I wrote in the last post, but I will write again
The PSU on amazon ships to Israel, but Ii just saw that in Israel there is a sale on PSUs from Antec-Is it worth it, and if so-which one? It will also have warranty when I buy it in Israel. and will a 550w PSU be enough even if I want to upgrade the GPU in the future?
http://ksp.co.il/?select=.108..140.&list=1&sort=2&glist...

I can buy this SSD from amazon, this one will be delivered to Israel. (Is that one of quality, and is the price good? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01FJ4UM9A/ref=ox_s...),

Is buying a 2nd hand GTX 1070 recommended? Will it make a difference if I get the 980Ti instead?

Thanks!

One other very important thing:

Which case from Antec that appears here would you recommend? Only the Antec cases are on sale. It should be as silent as possible.
Thanks!

Hey, you don't want to buy the 6700k. If your father is going to use that, I assume that he doesn't want/know how to overclock. You can go for the 6700 paired with MSI b150 motherboard, and save money on the CPU cooler(K processors don't come with any, meanwhile the "non-k" CPUs have). For GPU, go for the 1070, any well-known aftermarket brand will do. There is no problem buying a 2nd hand 1070, IF you trust the owner. I'm saying that because this is the 2nd best GPU on the market and someone wanting to sell it is kinda suspicious. Also, it will perform neck to neck with a 980ti, it depends on your budget, you can't go wrong with any. PSU: I recommend the Corsair's RM series, 500w minimum. 16GB of RAM is a really good choice. SSD: the best are the Samsung's but also the most expensive. Any other questions, please quote(!), I'll be glad to help

Thanks for the advice! That's right, my father is not very interested in overclocking. It will indeed save some money.
I am a little confused about the motherboard and for which one to go.
I will buy it in Israel-could you please take a look here and tell me what you would recommend best on the choice and price (1 USD equals 3.86 ILS):
http://www.zap.co.il/models.aspx?sog=c-motherboard

As for the PSU, the Antec 650W which is on sale costs approximately 72 USD, the same as the Antec 550W. Should i not get it instead, so the PSU will not strain itself?
Here is the choice of PSUs in Israel: http://www.zap.co.il/models.aspx?sog=c-powersupply

And people sell a used 1070 in Israel for almost double the price of a used 980Ti, and they really perform neck to neck, so I guess the 980Ti is the better choice. BTW, should the GTX 1060 beat all considered? I can get it for about 275$ new in Israel.

As for an Antec case (which are o sale too like the PSUs.) Which one here is the best choice?
I need of course good cooling, but also quietness.

And which HDD should i choose from these? http://www.zap.co.il/models.aspx?sog=c-harddrive&db812109=1453350&db141821=141823

We will go tomorrow to get the parts since my father needs that computer urgently. As for an SSD, we will think about it later since it is not absolutely necessary for the time being.
Any advice in the next few hours will be highly appreciated, since here is already night, and I don't have a lot of time to decide what will be the components of that PC.

Many thanks!

The difference in loading times is HUGE(up to 1min in some cases, like BF4).
