Hey guys. I have a Dell optiplex 7010 slim and I want to upgrade the graphics card. The card is a GTX 550 ti and I am concerned about the fact that it will fit. Please help me out. I allready figured out a way to install the power supply I am going to buy because it wont fit in the case. So now I just want to know if the 550 ti will fit.

Thanks

Greetings!

Which GTX 550Ti are you looking at? They come in various sizes depending on the brand. I did a little digging and came up with a video of a guy replacing the gpu in his optiplex 7010, but he used a very small radeon 7570...which Dell also offers in the 7010 as an option. Also, you say it is a 7010 slim...is that the DT, SFF, or USFF? This may effect your ability to fit a dedicated gpu at all, for the USFF may be too narrow...not sure, but the specs hint at it.

At first glance, it looks to me like the 550Ti may be too wide for the case to support, unless you have the MT version of the 7010 which is the largest offering case-wise. The 550Ti averages around 4 3/8" and varies per brand, but 4 3/8" is the smallest I could find. The 7010 DT is only 4" wide on the outside and it is the second largest of the group.

Here is Nvidia's specs: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-gtx-560ti-gtx-550ti-us.html

I dug around a bit on Dell's site and found another option worth considering:

It will fit the 7010 DT if that is your model, and here are some comparisons of the HD 7750 with a GTX 550 Ti:

Also, I believe it will be powered directly through the PCIe, so no need to upgrade/change your PSU.

I hope this helps!!
