Hello. I am using Stellar Phoenix to recover data on a harddrive.

The drive became unmounted somehow. I tried to assign a letter and it began formatting immediately. I rebooted to stop the procedure but it was wiped.

I am using Stellar Phoenix to try and recover files.

Recovered files: All mp3's play, but they play a different song than is named, and usually mid way through a song. It's as if ALL of my music has been offset with other music files. STRANGE!

Other documents and images are all toast too. .INI files seem to open though.

File structures and names are fine.

Should I try different software?

I think I might have screwed it up with some other software function between trying to scan the drive with other programs. I actually have a seperate RAW image folder on the drive, as if I tried to start a recovery earlier. Not sure which program saved them to the drive itself.

Guys, I used Minitool Data Power Recovery and have had better luck with file recovery. The files are intact and useable, so far.

I would recommend that program over EaseUS Stellar Phoenix for people that have messed up/wiped their partitions.

It is much easier to use than Recuva in my opinion. Very fast scanning too. Thanks for recommending it in the sticky.
