Hi guys,

I was playing The Division on my less than 1 year old PC and it suddenly shut off and won't turn back on. I have a R9 390 from Sapphire and I usually play games on 2k. This time I was playing on 4k since the new 1.5 patch messed up video settings and I couldn't tune it down to 2k. So I was monitoring the video card temp closely using MSI afterburner, and the PC shut off right when I was checking the temperatures. Usually it doesn't go over 80 this time I got something around 87. The CPU temp was 72.

Now I press the power button nothing happens. The motherboard still gets power since ADSL light is on so are keyboard and mouse. There is a overclock button on my 390 card and it normally light up when powered up. I noticed when I press the power button the overclock button glows for about half second and that was it. No fan spinning. Nothing. I tried unplug the PC and clear CMOS but didn't work.

Here is my part list:
6600K
Sapphire R9 390
G.skill Ripjaw V 8GBx2
Asrock z170 Gaming itx
XFX XTS 520W Fanless
Thermalright Cpu cooler

Thanks for helping!

Possible overheating. Not sure. Never really got into or know how to solve situations like this, but well....

Your motherboard might have died. When a motherboard is dead, it might still show signs like the LED on the motherboard being on, but it being on doesn't mean it's fully working. Maybe try with another motherboard and see if the PC boots up?
Also, your Power supply might be semi-dead. It shows also signs of it having power since the motherboard receives power and you see the overclock button glow, but it might be dead where it doesn't feed enough power or something.
Do a paperclip test on the PSU and see what happens. Also try another PSU and see if the PC boots up
I don't know if any of this will work or do anything at all. In a situation like this, you scratch your head and don't know what the source of problems are.

Thanks for the reply. But too bad my psu is fanless and i have no means to connect a case fan directly to it. I guess I will just let it discharge and try again tomorrow :(

I think something is wrong with the GPU. I removed it and now everything works fine.

Yeah but I'm still wondering if the PSU is intact. Maybe it's malfunctioning and just not giving enough power to start the system. Gonna test the GPU somehow to see if it runs at all.
