Hi everyone,
I've just built a new PC about 2 weeks ago. Everything was working OK and then about a week ago, it started turning off about 10-20 seconds after I turn it on. Computer specs are as follows:
-i5 6600k
-Asus Maximus Hero
-NZXT x61 Kraken
-2x 8gb Corsair vengeance
-Corsair RM650x
-Asus GTX 1070 strix
-1x Samsung 850 EVO
-1x Seagate Barracuda 2tb
-1x WD Caviar Blue 1tb (from couple years ago)
-Fractal Design Define S
-Windows 10
What happens is, after I turn on, the Asus ROG logo pops up on screen, prompting I hit del or F2 to enter BIOS. Once past that, the ROG logo stays, and then the windows loading icon comes up (similar to this: https://media0.giphy.com/media/59DhvPF3vzGWk/200_s.gif). Within a few seconds, the computer would turn off, almost like someone just unplugged the power. I'd then wait a few seconds, hit the on button again, and everything would work fine.
This has been reliably reproducible, every time I try to turn on the PC.
Couple of my own thoughts:
Could this be a motherboard problem? During my installation I used the wrong screws to attach my motherboard onto the standoffs. I've tried removing them but they won't come out, so I'm stuck there.
Can it also be a software issue? I've got some pirated software and maybe that's causing it. Come to think of it, problems did start after I used a pirated copy of Windows.
Fans/BIOS issue. I've changed my fan profile to make it run silent.
ADDED:
Not sure if relevant but, if i put my PC to sleep or hibernate for ~half a day or so, then wake up, the same thing happens - spontaneously turns off.
Cheers
