Hey guys. I used to build rigs pre-2007 and have since stopped. Not only that, but I pretty much stopped gaming since then. I've been completely out of the loop from both a gaming standpoint and technologically speaking, so I will need all the help I can get coming up with a new rig. I don't plan on doing any MMORPGs and will mostly be doing FPS (online mostly) / RTS / Action-Adventure type games. I don't care about VR and I don't care about having the latest <insert latest resolution here> experience. I just want to be able to play those style games listed above without much lag, if any. Keeping this under $1,000 would be preferable but, not necessary. Just please keep in mind I'm not a hardcore gamer.

Things I don't need:
- OS
- Monitor
- I have a 1tb external drive for backups/storage
- I don't plan on overclocking. Never done it before. Not sure if it would fit my needs

Things I'd like to have:
- I plan on getting a 24-27" monitor. Not sure how important that is when considering a GPU
- I'd like to also have a quality SSD 500gb (is 1tb recommended?)
- If I can have a microATX case (mini-tower?) while still being able to use standard components, I'd prefer that. Otherwise, ATX will do

That's pretty much all I can think of for now. Thanks!

Here you go. This is a system you can overclock if you want to. The M9i heatsink is as good as the CM 212 evo so it should do fine. do note the newer cards only work with digital monitors.
