Need help with Graphics Card (settings)

So I just built my first PC and even after all the research I have done I am still having trouble understanding how I should have my Graphics Card setup for PC gaming. I have done my best with testing through overclocking on MSI-Afterburner and everything seems fine. I just don't understand where I should set the "settings" at for my Graphics Card. So if I could get some numbers thrown my way that would be awesome, thanks.

Graphics Card: (gigabyte geforce gtx 1070 gaming)

That's generally never a set thing, as all cards vary in how much they can OC. Just make sure your setting is stable. You need to test it thoroughly on demanding games.
